AIMF 2016: building inclusive cities!

More than 300 mayors and elected officials participated in the Convention of the International Association of Francophone Mayors (IAMF), which was held September 28-30, 2016 in Beirut.

The AIMF's congress brought together more than 350 elected officials, practitioners and experts from all around la Francophonie to discuss “Living Together” in the City.

The event consisted of three main workshops on social economy, the contribution of the community and participatory budgeting. Summary (synthèse des travaux, in French).

The first meeting of the Standing Committee on Living Together, of which the City of Montreal was the chair, was held alongside the Convention. This session brought together more than 15 mayors and elected officials from member cities of the Observatory.

In preparation for this event, a special edition of Revue Raisonnance on « Living Together » highlighted the work of the International Observatory of Mayors on Living Together.

AIMF is the global network of francophone mayors and local elected officials.
